The government projects approximately 143.9 million people movements during the 2026 Eid homecoming period, based on a survey conducted by the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia. The high level of mobility underscores the importance of service readiness across all modes of transportation, including sea crossings, to ensure smooth traffic flow, distribution stability, and travel comfort for the public.

In response to this challenge, OT Group has established a strategic partnership with PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) to strengthen services at four major ports with the highest passenger volumes during the Eid travel season: Merak Port, Bakauheni Port, Gilimanuk Port, and Ketapang Port.

Through this collaboration, OT Group ensures the availability of various travel essentials that can be easily accessed by travelers, ranging from snacks to ready-to-drink beverages and bottled drinking water. OT Group products such as Tango, Teh Gelas, Crystalin, and Formula will be available across port areas, retail tenants, and onboard ferry services.

The surge in mobility during the Eid period is often accompanied by increased consumption needs in transit areas. Therefore, OT Group is also ensuring that these products remain available at prices aligned with the Government’s Highest Retail Price (HET) policy, helping maintain price stability while protecting consumers’ purchasing power during their journey.

Donny, CEO FMCG of OT Group, emphasized that the collaboration goes beyond business expansion and represents the company’s contribution to strengthening the public service ecosystem.

“Eid homecoming is the largest social mobility moment in Indonesia. We see it not merely as a peak distribution season, but as a shared responsibility to ensure that people have access to affordable, official, and easily accessible products at crucial travel points. During periods of high demand, availability and price stability become essential. Through this partnership, we ensure the supply chain runs optimally so travelers do not need to worry about product availability or potential price increases,” Donny stated.

Meanwhile, Nana Sutisna, Technical Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero), stated that the collaboration forms part of ASDP’s broader effort to strengthen a more integrated and customer-oriented ferry service ecosystem, particularly during peak mobility periods such as the Eid homecoming season.

“We welcome this collaboration as part of our efforts to improve service quality for ferry passengers. Through partnerships with various stakeholders, ASDP continues to enhance a travel experience that is more comfortable, safe, and memorable for the public,” Nana said.

The collaboration also introduces a more integrated service approach through various activations in passenger terminals and lounges, service optimization onboard ferries, and the provision of products relevant to long-distance travel needs. The presence of OT Group products across these four major ports is expected to provide convenient access for travelers seeking food, beverages, and hygiene products during their journey.

This partnership also marks a further expansion of OT Group’s business development strategy within Indonesia’s national transportation ecosystem, following its previous collaboration in the aviation sector with Garuda Indonesia.

Reinforcing this commitment, the partnership reflects OT Group’s strategic shift from simply distributing products to actively integrating into the national travel ecosystem. With high passenger concentrations at major ferry hubs, the company recognizes the importance of having a stronger presence at key mobility points, particularly during the Eid homecoming season—a moment that carries deep social and emotional significance.

“We believe companies should not only be present in people’s daily lives, but also during important national moments. The Eid homecoming tradition symbolizes togetherness and hope. Through this collaboration, OT Group aims to become part of that journey by ensuring that affordable and trusted products remain accessible at every major mobility point,” Donny concluded.

Through this synergy, the 2026 Eid homecoming travel period is expected not only to run smoothly from a transportation operations perspective but also to deliver a more reliable, comfortable, and affordable travel experience for millions of Indonesians.
