“The greatest joy in life is doing things that people said that you couldn’t do” (Anonymous)

A winner is a person who has a winning attitude. Winning attitude will make them winners while the others become losers. To attain victory is not easy. It takes a hard work and a strong-willed person to face all the hardship that lie ahead. That’s why; those who win are those who have winning attitudes.

Most successful persons and successful experts said that winning attitude determine 80-90 percent of a person’ success in life. Research from DR Albert Widgam to 4.000 people who have been fired shows that most of the employees are not fired because they are lacking of skills or knowledge, but because they have bad mental attitude. 3.600 people or 90 percent got fired because of their bad personality and 400 people or 10 percent got fired because of they are lacking of technical skills. Dale Carnegie Institute also does a research to 10.000 successful people around the world. They conclude that, 85 percent of successful people have a positive mental and attitude. While, 15 percent others are success because of their technical skills. And those who failed or fired are pessimistic people, hard to accept changes, undisciplined, always get in a fight with officemates, and have other negative attitudes.

Every person can influence other people, either in a direct or indirect way. This phenomenon occurs naturally in our unconscious mind, and radiate through our mind and feelings, also shown in our body languages. The people in your surroundings will feel a positive or negative aura that affect your mind, and pass on the aura, and vice versa. So, it’s normal if people always want to hang around with positive people and avoid negative people.

And people are willing to help those with positive attitude, rather than those with negative attitude. The differences between successful person and not-successful or not-yet successful person (failure) lies at the way of their perspective and mindset towards their surroundings, either in family matters or business matters or personal matters. We are tend to hear people said: “Think positive!”, for those who feels disappointed or worried. Think positive is a mental attitude that involves thoughts, words, and constructive images for mind development. Positive mind will bring you happiness, joy, health, and success in every situation. Whatever thought that you wished for, positive mind will help you to bring it into reality. So, think positive is also a mental attitude to hope for a good and prosper results. Most of successful persons attain their success through making continuous efforts with positive attitude.

For example, on employee recruitment and selection, there was a candidate who proposed for the job, but because he was lacking of self-confidence, and he assumed that he was a failure and not worthy enough to attain success, therefore he would never get the job. He had a negative mind about himself and believed that the others candidate was better and more adequate than him. He got this negative mind from his bad experiences. His mind was filled with a negative mind and fear of the job for a whole week before the interview.

He was so sure that he would get rejected. In the day of his interview, he woke up late and his fear came to reality. His shirt was wrinkled, and the others candidate wore an ironed shirt. And he was late, he ended up wore a wrinkled shirt. During the interview, he felt nervous, worried about his shirt, and felt hungry because he didn’t have enough time to have breakfast. All of these events distracted his mind and made it hard for him to focus on the interview. His whole attitude created bad impressions, and as a result, his fear came to reality and he didn’t get the job.

The other candidate proposed for the same job vacancy, but he responded it differently. He felt that he will get the job. A week before the interview, he often visualized himself had the job. The night before the interview, he prepared his own clothes and sleep earlier than usual. In the day of his interview, he woke up earlier, so he had enough time to have a breakfast, and then arrived to the place on time. In the end, he finally got the job because he has a positive mind in every action that he did. Of course, he is adequate to get the job.

From two situations above, we can learn that a positive attitude will produce positive feelings, constructive images, and take us to see ourselves for something that we wished for. It also gives us enlighten, more power, and happiness. Inside of you will radiate goodness, happiness, and success. Even a positive attitude will bring us many advantages to our own health. We will walk upright and our voice will become more dignified. Our body language will show our true-self.

Other example of a winning attitude:

“courage to try and courage to face failure.” For a winner, failure is common. But, they keep learning from every failure. Because every failure will make them more mature and more educated. Failure is also a best teacher to show our weakness. Failure also makes our mental stronger than before, because failure often bring us down. In order to overcome failure, we must have a strong and resilient mind. All of the winner stories around the world, is a story of failure that they have already overcame with optimism, so in the end, the failure fails to make them down. While losers have an opposite mental attitude from the winners, they are tend to get desperate easily, weak spirit, pessimistic, and easy to give up.
